California Hospital is a 316-bed acute care hospital that provides services for the dynamic community of downtown Los Angeles and its surrounding neighborhoods. There are a variety of volunteering opportunities.

Clerical Volunteer
Clerical Volunteers assist with filing, data entry, mailings, and a range of other special needs. Volunteers that offer clerical assistance help keep California Hospital Medical Center running around the clock.

Information Desk
Individuals who have good communication skills may want to volunteer their time assisting visitors at the information desk with providing information, answering general questions, and directing visitors.

Gift Shop
For those who love to shop, The Gift Shop would be the place to volunteer The staff at The Gift Shop offers important services to the hospitals patients, families, visitors, and employees. All profits from The Gift Shops sales are donated to the hospital.

Hope Street Youth Center
For those who love to read, the Hope Street Youth Center is a great place to volunteer. Each volunteer mentor meets with a school-aged child one hour a week to help improve the childs reading and language arts skills using a proven method entitled Help One Student to Succeed. Its easy to learn this method and all books, games, and other materials are provided on site. There is even a credentialed teacher in the classroom to assist you. Help make a difference in the life of a child

Volunteers can also assist hospital staff by distributing reading materials such as newspapers to patients.
